Recording Income

Recording income in Banzai is similar to other transactions, except money is allocated to the student's jars rather than taken from them. Doing so requires the student to ask herself questions such as:

• How long do I have to make this money last?
• What expenses do I expect to incur during this time?
• How much money should I set aside in my Reserves jar?

 
In the transaction above, the student has allocated her paycheck across four different jars. Note that she entered all numbers in the In column.

Students should be strongly encouraged to place a portion of their income in the Reserves jar, thus helping them to build a store of money that can be accessed in an emergency.
