Students seeking a shortcut to entering their transactions by hand may upload the data directly to Banzai using a data file obtained from their bank. Most financial institutions make these files available as downloads from their online banking sites. Banzai accepts files formatted for either Microsoft Money or Quicken.

To upload transactions to Banzai, a student must first put the Upload Transactions widget shown above on her home page. Having done this, she selects the account for which she is uploading transactions, clicks Browse and locates the file downloaded from her bank, and then clicks Upload Transactions.
Uploaded transactions appear in the Pending section of the transaction form. Banzai takes from the upload file the transaction title and date and creates an account entry. The student simply verifies that the data shown is correct, adds one or more jar entries, and clicks Save to record the transaction just as if she had entered the entire thing herself.
